Opening a support ticket
Use support tickets when you need help that should not be handled only in public chat, or when you need to attach screenshots, logs, or account-specific details.
Good reasons to open a ticket
Open a ticket for:
- dashboard errors
- account access issues
- Premium billing or expiry questions
- Real Name / GECOS not applying
- vhost problems
- IRC network settings that keep failing
- IRC Inbox issues
- suspected bugs
- screenshots or attachment-based troubleshooting
What to include
A good ticket should include:
- your Eggy BNC username
- IRC client name
- network name
- server and port tried
- whether SSL/TLS was enabled
- exact error text
- what you already tried
- screenshots if useful
For connection issues, explain whether the failure is:
your IRC client -> Eggy BNC
or:
Eggy BNC -> remote IRC network
These are different problems.
Useful error examples
Paste exact lines such as:
Connection refused
IRC connection timed out
Software caused connection abort
address is banned
certificate fingerprint warning
The channel could not be joined, disabling it
Do not paste passwords. If private details are needed, support will tell you what is safe to provide.
Public chat or ticket?
Use Eggy Webchat and #Help for quick general questions. Use a ticket for account-specific details, billing, private logs, screenshots, or issues that need tracking.
