If the discussion is specifically about an Eggy game, please use the Eggy Games forum instead.
Use clear thread titles
Try to make the title say what the discussion is actually about.
Good examples:
- Anyone playing the new Battlefield?
- What are you playing this weekend?
- Best co-op games on Steam?
- Thoughts on the latest Nintendo Direct
- Favourite PS2 games
Avoid vague titles such as:
- Game
- Look at this
- Anyone?
- Question
- Thoughts?
Spoilers
Be considerate with major story spoilers.
If you are discussing an ending, major boss, plot twist or other important story moment, use spoiler tags where appropriate.
Major story details can go here.
You do not need to hide normal gameplay discussion, but do not ruin major story moments for other people unnecessarily.
Console and platform arguments
You are welcome to prefer one platform over another.
You are also welcome to disagree about games, publishers, consoles or hardware.
Just keep it about the subject.
Do not turn threads into personal attacks because somebody prefers PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, PC or anything else.
Friendly rivalry is fine.
Endless platform wars are not.
Piracy, cheats and exploits
Do not use the Gaming Lounge to distribute pirated games, cracks, stolen accounts, licence keys or other unauthorised content.
Do not post instructions intended to compromise other players, abuse online services or interfere with somebody else's account or system.
Discussion about cheating or exploits as a topic is fine.
Providing harmful tools or instructions for abusing them is not.
Gaming news and rumours
Gaming rumours are welcome when they are clearly presented as rumours.
Do not deliberately present speculation, fake screenshots or made-up announcements as confirmed news.
If something has not been officially confirmed, say so.
Reviews and opinions
You do not have to agree with everyone else.
One person can love a game that somebody else thinks is terrible.
Explain your opinion, disagree normally and let other members have theirs.
A discussion does not need a winner.
Keep it suitable for the community
The normal Eggy.net rules still apply here.
Do not post pornography, graphic gore, harassment, personal information or other material that is unsuitable for the community.
Some games contain mature content, but that does not mean every image or clip from them is appropriate to post publicly.
Use common sense.
Advertising and self-promotion
Do not use the Gaming Lounge primarily to advertise your own website, server, channel, stream or product.
Sharing something relevant as part of a genuine discussion is fine.
Repeated promotional posting is not.
Looking for people to play with?
If you are specifically trying to find other Eggy members to join a game or session, use Looking for Players.
That keeps matchmaking posts together instead of burying them among general gaming discussion.
