What is the Activity Feed?
The Activity Feed is a read-only forum that automatically records gameplay happening across Eggy.net.
You cannot create threads in this forum yourself.
Instead, Eggy Activity watches Eggy games for genuine gameplay events and creates a thread when something worth recording happens.
That might be somebody finishing a Copter run, defeating a monster in RPG, catching a fish, completing a Pool match, finishing a Swarm run, creating a ROM Console save or unlocking an achievement.
The member who actually performed the activity is always named inside the thread. Eggy Activity simply acts as the automated account that publishes it.
Activity threads are locked automatically after they are posted. They are there as a record of what happened, rather than as normal discussion threads.
What does it track?
The Activity Feed currently watches the following Eggy games:
ROM Console
ROM Console activity can be published when a member actually plays through the console.
This includes:
- ROM play sessions
- Completed game sessions
- Save activity
- New save states
- ROM Console achievements
A ROM Console activity thread may identify the game being played and what happened during that session.
For example, somebody finishing a play session or creating a new save can appear here automatically.
Repeated background saving is not intended to turn the forum into a wall of save messages. The feed is there to show useful gameplay activity rather than every internal emulator action.
⚔ Eggy RPG
Eggy RPG is one of the more detailed games tracked by the Activity Feed.
It can publish activity for:
- Enemies defeated
- Battles lost
- Boss activity
- Loot found
- Quest completions
- Level progression
- RPG achievements
Depending on what happened, an RPG post may also include information such as:
- The enemy or boss involved
- Where the battle happened
- XP earned
- Gold earned
- Loot received
- Item rarity
- The monster the item came from
So if Neal gets flattened by a Cave Bat in Whispering Forest, Robo Eggy may absolutely tell everyone about it.
Likewise, if somebody defeats a Forest Bandit, finds an item, completes a quest or reaches a new level, that activity can appear here.
Eggy Pool
Eggy Pool activity is based on completed games rather than every individual shot.
The feed can publish:
- Completed Pool matches
- Match wins
- Match losses
- Match results
- Forfeit results
- Pool achievements
A Pool activity thread can identify the players involved and the final result of the match.
This means the Activity Feed records the result that actually matters without filling the forum with every shot, foul or ball movement during the game.
Eggy Fishing & Aquarium
Fishing activity can appear from both the fishing game itself and the member's aquarium.
The feed can publish:
- Fish caught
- New species catches
- Personal catch records
- Fish added to an aquarium
- Fishing achievements
Depending on the catch, a thread may include:
- Fish species
- Weight
- Rarity
- Fishing location
- Personal-best information
- Aquarium activity
So a good catch does not just disappear into somebody's private history. Other members can actually see when somebody lands something interesting or adds a new fish to their aquarium.
Eggy Copter
Every completed Copter run can be recorded by the Activity Feed.
Copter activity can include:
- Completed runs
- Distance travelled
- Final score
- Personal-best runs
- Copter achievements
A Copter post can also show statistics recorded during the run, including:
- Boosts used
- Close calls
- Previous best distance
For example, a completed run may appear with the member's score, distance, boosts, close calls and previous personal best all in the same post.
Eggy Swarm
The Activity Feed also records activity from Eggy Swarm.
This includes:
- Completed Swarm runs
- Run results
- Scores
- Solo gameplay results
- Multiplayer results
- Swarm achievements
Where Swarm records the information for that run, activity posts can also include useful match or run statistics such as kills, bosses, revives, survival time and the arena being played.
Multiplayer activity can also be published when a squad finishes a real multiplayer session.
Achievements
Achievements are part of the Activity Feed too.
When a supported Eggy game awards a new achievement, Eggy Activity can publish it here so the unlock is visible outside the game itself.
That currently includes achievements from supported systems such as:
- ROM Console
- Eggy RPG
- Eggy Pool
- Eggy Fishing & Aquarium
- Eggy Copter
- Eggy Swarm
Achievement threads identify the member, the game and the achievement that was unlocked.
Why does this forum exist?
A lot happens inside the Eggy games that would normally only be visible to the person playing.
Someone could catch a rare fish, get destroyed by a monster, finish a huge Copter run, win a Pool match or unlock an achievement and nobody else would ever know unless they mentioned it themselves.
The Activity Feed changes that.
It gives Eggy.net one place where members can see what is actually happening across the games as people play them.
It is not a manually maintained news feed and it is not staff posting updates about members.
The threads are generated automatically from real gameplay recorded by the games themselves.
Why are the threads locked?
Activity threads are deliberately read only.
They are automatic records of gameplay, not discussion threads.
Locking them keeps the Activity Feed clean and prevents an individual game result, fish catch or loot drop from turning into an unrelated conversation.
If you want to talk about one of the games, use its normal discussion or support area instead.
Who is Eggy Activity?
Eggy Activity is the automated account used to publish these threads.
It does not play the games itself.
It simply watches for supported game activity, identifies the member responsible and publishes the result into this forum.
So if you suddenly see Robo Eggy announcing that you lost a fight, found some loot or set a new score...
...the robot saw it.
