Eggy Fishing & Aquarium 1.0.4 is a major content expansion that significantly increases the amount of fishing progression, collection and long-term goals available throughout the game.
The fish catalogue has been expanded from 26 to 46 species, adding 20 completely new catchable fish across Willow Creek, Pine Lake, Moonlit Marsh, Deepwater Reservoir and Saltwind Pier. The new additions range from Common species such as Common Bream, Rudd and Black Crappie through to harder catches such as Alligator Gar, Paddlefish, Lake Sturgeon, Swordfish and the new Mythic Blue Marlin.
Every new species is fully integrated into the existing game rather than being encyclopedia-only content. New fish can be caught normally, discovered in the Fishing Journal, added to the aquarium, tracked through catch history and statistics, compete for species records and contribute towards progression and achievements.
The tackle system has also received a major expansion with 10 new rods, increasing the total rod catalogue from 4 to 14. New equipment ranges from the lightweight Creek Whisper through specialised freshwater, reservoir and saltwater setups all the way to the endgame Abyss X. Each rod has been balanced around the existing rod attributes so different equipment can offer different combinations of supported fish weight, line performance and luck rather than simply replacing everything below it.
The bait catalogue has grown from 5 to 15 bait types with the addition of Bread Flake, Red Maggots, Tiger Nuts, Bloodworm Cluster, Crayfish Tail, Leech Bunch, Spinnerbait, King Prawn, Peeler Crab and Flying Fish Lure. The expanded bait system gives anglers more ways to target different fish and waters, with new bait compatibility applied across both existing and newly added species where appropriate.
This release also adds 15 new built-in achievements, taking the achievement catalogue from 22 to 37 achievements. New goals cover encyclopedia progression, large catch totals, total landed weight, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythic catches, equipment ownership, bait mastery and specific expansion challenges such as catching a Blue Marlin and discovering all 20 newly added species.
Achievement support has been expanded behind the scenes as well. Built-in achievements can now make use of additional conditions such as specific species catches, rod ownership, successful bait usage and defined groups of species. This allows more specialised goals such as Bluewater Royalty, The New Twenty, Fully Rigged and Prepared for Anything while also making the achievement system more flexible for future content.
Built-in achievement management through the ACP has also been improved, allowing administrators greater control over achievement titles, descriptions, targets, tiers, display order, conditions and enabled status while retaining the default Eggy Fishing achievement set.
The Fishing Journal automatically expands to support all 46 species, including discovery state, rarity, known waters, catch totals, personal bests, specimen quality and community record information. Existing journal discoveries continue to count and previously unlocked achievements remain preserved.
All existing player progression is retained during the upgrade, including levels, XP, credits, catches, total landed weight, aquarium fish, inventory, equipped tackle, species discoveries, statistics, records, challenges, expeditions, streaks and achievement unlocks.
Overall, 1.0.4 turns the existing fishing experience into a much larger progression and collection game with substantially more species to discover, equipment to work towards, bait strategies to experiment with and achievements to chase.
