Eggy BNC has received a user-focused update designed to make the logged-in experience clearer, faster, and more useful.
Previously, the homepage was mainly built around new visitors and account creation. That made sense for people discovering Eggy BNC for the first time, but it was not ideal for users who already had an account. Logged-in users now get a more account-aware homepage experience that focuses on useful information instead of showing the same guest-focused content.
The logged-in homepage now acts more like a quick account overview. It gives users a cleaner snapshot of their BNC account, connection details, active vHost, network usage, support status, and recent account-related information. The dashboard remains the place where changes are made, but the homepage is now more helpful when users simply want to check their account at a glance.
This update also improves how the homepage loads account information. The page shell can load first, while account-specific details are fetched after page load. This keeps the homepage feeling faster and avoids making users wait on heavier account checks before anything appears.
Alongside the UX improvements, Free users now have more room to manage their IRC setup. Free accounts can now use up to 5 user-managed IRC networks, increased from the previous limit of 3. The protected Eggy support network remains separate, so user-managed network slots are reserved for the IRC networks users choose to add themselves.
Network management continues to be handled through the Eggy dashboard. This keeps the setup safer, clearer, and easier to support, while still giving Free users more flexibility than before.
