Dashboard Update Roundup: Easier Account, Network and WebChat Controls

A roundup of the latest Eggy BNC dashboard improvements, including account email and password management, user-managed IRC networks, vhosts, WebChat, IRC Inbox, Premium features, Ticket Support, and clearer loading feedback.

Eggy BNC changelog illustration

Eggy BNC has had a major dashboard update focused on making the service easier to manage without needing users to rely on the ZNC web panel for everyday account changes.

The dashboard is now the main place to manage your BNC account, update important details, control your user-managed IRC networks, change your vhost, launch WebChat, use IRC Inbox, check Premium features, and find support.

This update is about making Eggy BNC easier for normal IRC users. You should be able to log in, see what your BNC is doing, make changes safely, and get back to IRC without needing to understand every raw ZNC setting.

Account management is now clearer

The Account area now lets users manage key account details directly from the dashboard.

You can update your email address so Eggy BNC has a reliable contact for account recovery, support ticket replies, service notices, and future account-related messages.

Your email is private. It is not shown on IRC and it does not affect your nickname, ident, real name, vhost, or public IRC identity.

Password changes now update both dashboard and BNC access

Password handling has been improved so your dashboard password and live ZNC/BNC password stay together.

When you update your password from the dashboard, Eggy BNC updates your live BNC password first. Only after that succeeds does the dashboard update the stored password hash for your account.

This makes the password change process safer because it avoids a mismatch where your dashboard password changes but your live BNC password does not.

After changing your password, your IRC client will need to use the new password. WebChat and dashboard reply features may also ask for the new password again after a password change.

User-managed IRC networks are easier to control

The Networks area lets users manage their saved IRC networks from the dashboard.

Users can add IRC networks, edit network details, reconnect networks, and remove user-managed networks without needing to visit the ZNC web panel.

Free accounts can manage up to 3 user-managed IRC networks, plus the protected Eggy support network. The protected Eggy support network is separate and does not count as one of your user-managed networks.

This gives free users more room to stay connected to the IRC networks they actually use while still keeping Eggy support available.

Network cards now show useful connection details such as the network name, server, nickname, channel count, and whether the network is currently on IRC.

The protected Eggy support network stays separate

Eggy BNC includes a protected Eggy support network so users can reach Eggy support channels more easily.

This support network is separate from your own user-managed IRC networks. Normal network management actions should not accidentally remove or break it.

That means you can manage your own IRC networks while still keeping the Eggy support connection available.

Vhost management is now built into the dashboard

The Vhosts area lets users choose from approved Eggy BNC vhosts.

Changing your vhost from the dashboard applies the selected approved vhost and reconnects the relevant network so the new host can appear on IRC.

A vhost helps give your BNC connection a cleaner approved Eggy identity, but it does not bypass IRC network rules, channel bans, server restrictions, or network abuse checks.

WebChat can now launch from saved BNC networks

The WebChat tab lets users open browser-based IRC through their existing Eggy BNC networks.

Instead of manually building a connection string, you can choose one of your saved user-managed networks and launch WebChat from the dashboard.

The WebChat password prompt appears as a dashboard modal and keeps the password out of the URL. The password can be remembered for the current dashboard session only, and it may need to be entered again after a password change.

The WebChat tab now shows all user-managed networks, so users with multiple networks can launch the one they actually want.

IRC Inbox is available from the dashboard

IRC Inbox gives dashboard access to BNC message and thread features where enabled.

The dashboard can show inbox threads, unread state, hidden threads, restored threads, and recent reply activity. Dashboard replies can also be used where the feature is enabled.

This helps users keep track of messages without needing to stay inside an IRC client all the time.

Premium features are clearer

The Premium area explains what Premium is for and what it unlocks.

Eggy BNC Premium remains simple at $1.99 per month. Free BNC access remains free, while Premium helps support the service and unlocks additional dashboard and BNC features.

Premium is intended for users who want more from their BNC or want to help support the running costs of the service.

Slow actions now show clearer button feedback

Some dashboard actions take a few seconds because they need to talk to the live BNC helper, update account settings, check Premium status, reconnect networks, or save feature settings.

The dashboard now gives clearer feedback when these actions are running.

Buttons can change to messages such as Saving, Updating, Checking, Opening, or Reconnecting while the action is being processed.

This helps users understand that the dashboard is working and prevents repeated clicks while a request is already running.

Ticket Support and help are easier to find

Support is available through the Ticket Support link on the Eggy BNC website.

Users can also email [email protected].

The dashboard is there for managing your account and BNC settings. Ticket Support is there when you need help with something that cannot be solved directly from the dashboard.

Why this update matters

This dashboard update makes Eggy BNC easier to use for people who want a practical IRC bouncer without needing to manage everything through raw ZNC controls.

Users can still connect with normal IRC clients and standard BNC commands, but the dashboard now handles more everyday management in a clearer and safer way.

The main improvements are account control, safer password updates, clearer network management, vhost control, WebChat launching, IRC Inbox access, Premium visibility, support access, and better feedback while actions are running.

Eggy BNC is still built around simple IRC access, but the dashboard now makes the service much easier to understand, manage, and trust.
